Elizabeth Alexander was born in Chicago and raised in Evanston, IL. She is a third generation Evanston Township High School graduate, and attended the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University, obtaining her B.A. in East Asian Studies. She earned her law degree from George Washington University Law School and obtained her Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. She is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Washington, DC.
Elizabeth is the Marketing Manager for the Chicago Public Schools, overseeing the creation of public-private partnerships in order to raise revenue to support underfunded schools and programs. Before entering government service, Elizabeth worked as an Associate at Leventhal, Senter & Lerman PLLC, a Washington, DC-based firm specializing in communications law.
With an interest in public and civic activity, Elizabeth has been active in government and politics for most of her life, beginning as an 8 years old with her volunteer work on behalf of her mother's campaign for school board. She was a leader in student government at George Washington University, and has maintained her involvement as a volunteer for political campaigns in Illinois. A strong supporter of the arts, she serves as a board member and volunteer on arts groups in Chicago.
She and her husband live in Chicago. |
