Kathelyn Hayes works in the Narcotics Nuisance Abatement Unit of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. For twenty years she has worked as an advocate for social services. She's active in the NAACP Chicago, Black Journalists Association and National Negro Women's Council among others. She has experience as a campaign staffer on the national, state and local level. She admires Carrie Austin's leadership ability and Bobbie Steele for her attentiveness to the concerns of her Westside community. She plans to use her IWIL experience to become an effective advocate for women, people of color, children and the elderly. |
