Paula Yensen is currently serving her second term as a Trustee in the Village of Lake in the Hills. Despite being a newcomer to local politics in 2001, Paula was the top vote-getter – a feat she repeated in 2005. During her tenure, she has served as liaison to the McHenry County Transportation Committee, village representative to the Northern Illinois Planning Commission on Affordable Housing, and liaison to the Lake in the Hills Senior Club.
In her professional life, she is the Executive Director of United Way of Greater St. Charles and Elburn, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Fox Valley Association for Fundraising Professionals. She is also is an adjunct faculty member at Harper College. Paula has a Ph.D. in Education from Michigan State University.
Paula’s community service includes chairing the fundraising committee for the McHenry County Democratic Party. She is the Public Policy Chair for the Huntley Branch of the American Association for University Women, and a National Operational Volunteer for Girl Scouts U.S.A. She is a member of the McHenry County Defenders, Planned Parenthood and the McHenry County Land Trust.
She has been married to Michael Bissett since 1984. They have a son and a daughter. |
