It was during her volunteer experience on two campaigns that Carol DiCola realized that in order to enact change, it had to start with her. She joined the local Democratic organization, Downers Grove Township Democrats, and became a precinct committeeman which then lead to local and state-wide candidacies for Township Trustee in 2005 and for State Representative District 47 in 2006.
November will mark her 22nd anniversary in the field of education. She received her Master’s Degree from Loyola University, a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Mary-of-the-Woods, and an Associate’s Degree from Triton College.
She has board experience with professional and academic organizations and enjoys participating in several women’s organizations such as League of Women Voters, Illinois Democratic Women, and a service/social woman’s club which, through their fundraising efforts, gives back to the community.
As a Democratic, whether it be through campaigning as a candidate, manager or as party leader, she wants to address those issues that she believes matter most in local and state government: Accountability, Honesty, Openness, Health Care Reform, Education Funding, Security, Environment, Reducing the high cost of heating/gas, Mass Transit, Budget, and Job Creation. |
