Hello, my name is Gena Pannaralla Faas. I was born and raised on Chicago’s south side where I was educated at Catholic elementary and high schools. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from The University of Iowa and my Master in Public Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. I have been a member of both the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and the Illinois City/County Management Association (ILCMA) since 2004. My interest in government and public service began in high school when I worked for the City of Chicago’s Special Events Department as an aide for the Jumping Jack Program. During my college years, I worked as an intern with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office of Special Projects where I assisted in the implementation of the child bicycle and fire safety program presented at parks and schools throughout the county. Following graduation, I worked as an intern under the Communications Director for the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning & Development. I currently hold a position in the Government Affairs Office at Rush University Medical Center. As a woman keenly interested in the political process, I believe that we must continue to encourage young women to develop their interest and active participation in the leadership of our government. |
